McGarrah Jessee celebrated SXSW by hosting a Pecha Kucha event that brought together artists and innovators from the interactive, film and music communities to talk about the art and business of storytelling, for an evening of creative inspiration.

Speakers included Tim League, founder of the Alamo Drafthouse, Singer-songwriter Erin Ivey, Filmmaker Jeff Fraley, and Dana Kruse who leads Starbucks’ mobile products and platforms team. A full list of speakers is can be viewed the event website, and videos of the evening's talks can be viewed here.

Pecha Kucha is Japanese for “chit-chat.” It began in 2003 as a way for young artists, thinkers and designers to informally meet, network and show their creative work in public. Each speaker gets exactly 6 minutes and 40 seconds and a total of 20 slides to present a topic of their choosing. See more at pecha-kucha.org.

The speaker series was followed by an after-party performance by The Eastern Sea.

The event donations benefitted the Austin Bat Cave.
